About Me and The Blog

Hi, my name is Derek Nuzum and I am a college student at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, US. I am majoring in Political Science and minoring in Peace Studies. After Whitworth I plan on going to law school and then getting involved in International Politics.

This blog will serve as an outlet for me to post my thoughts on political happenings and occasionally anything else I feel like posting. It will be very candid, controversial, harsh, and open. I love to post my thoughts without hesitation and I would also love it if you left comments, criticism, or anything else. You will not offend me no matter what you do. This blog is not all about me or for me, I encourage everyone who reads my posts to leave some sort of comment. Healthy debate is encouraged!

  4. Hello Mr. Nuzum-I am wondering what your take is on the Obama win.

  5. My take is one of success. I was not the biggest fan of either candidate for the past month and a half. But, I would rather have Obama win than McCain. And it was more of a VP choice than anything, Palin as second in line for the Presidency would have been a huge blow for our international credibility.

Essentially I have supported Obama since prior to his announcement. As time went on and I looked at other choices I stood by him. When it got closer to election time I was pretty much sick of the electoral process and almost didn’t vote. But, when I got my ballot, I came to the conclusion of 1. My voted in Washington state won’t make a difference for the Executive position. 2. I should vote against who I for sure wouldn’t want: McCain/Palin.

I believe Obama has potential to do good things. But, he must prove himself.

  6. I too believe Obama has the potential to do good things. As an American I have never seen the interest that has been generated in this election. People seem inspired-ready for change-in fact embracing it. Hopefully this wave of enthusiasm can be harnessed and manufactured into something positive for our nation. ( For the record I voted Obama)
